I've been blender browsing since mine conked out last week.
I thought I would replace it with a Blentec or Vitamix or something fancy, but I don't do that much high tech blending. Certainly not enough to justify breaking $400, and what I do--making smoothies and frozen drinks, chopping veggies, grinding whole coffee beans, and such--can be handled well by a standard blender. I could change my cooking style to blend more, but ehh. No.
Besides, I need a blender now. No time to save up--I'm already missing my morning smoothies and I'm cash strapped as I just purchased a new TV. My blender budget is $200.
I turned to Good Housekeeping for advice from the very experienced people there and decided I liked the Cuisinart Smart Power Premier best. Note the review for the Vitamix...just as I suspected I can get similar results from a much cheaper blender. With a three year warranty on the Cuisinart, and an extra $300ish bucks in my pocket, I'll take my chances!
Then, I turned to Google Shopping and discovered that Overstock sold that blender with a food processor combo for $135.00. Perfect! A food processor has been on my wishlist for a while now (second only to a juicer), so I don't feel too bad about dishing out the extra bucks (Good Housekeeping set the blender price at $100 in July 2010).
Found my blender! Yes!
Hugs and kisses peeps,
Bethany
