Arabic, Swahili, and International Studies...oh my!

I was so excited to be accepted into Howard University's certificate program in International Studies earlier this semester. In addition to my IS courses, I've decided to pick up two languages--Swahili and Arabic. It's been a challenge, but I'm learning a ton!
East Africa: My Area of Study

Funny how precious time becomes when you have to manage it. I've gotten the gentle push I needed to decide who and what is important to me, and to cut the nonsense.

I'm fascinated by East Africa--the people, languages, history, culture, and of course, the food. I can hardly wait for my next visit!

So, what does a Librarian do with a degree in International Studies? Good question!

I'm interested in the impact of information policy and information management on the elimination of health disparities in developed and developing countries, and am considering a Ph.D. in Health Services Research and Policy. The return road from a working professional salary to a measly student salary is a bit depressing though, we'll see...

Happy Monday peeps!

Hugs and kisses,

Bethany
