I try to keep the stuff going into my hair organic; the easiest (and cheapest) way I've found is by making my own products.
I've been looking for shampoo alternatives and was happy to run across this recipe for Brown Sugar Scalp Scrub on CurlyNikki.com.
With just three ingredients, its simple and quick to whip up. The Peppermint Essential Oil I opted for smells great and has a nice, refreshing quality. My version below.
Brown Sugar Scalp Scrub
I follow her process almost exactly, the only change I make is not adding the Essential Oil. I think it's kind of a waste because you rinse the conditioner out anyway, and I haven't noticed a lingering smell.
My hair looks and feels amazing! It's sooo healthy and getting pretty long, I love it! I promise to update you all with pics soon!
Happy Thursday peeps!
Hugs and kisses,
Bethany

With just three ingredients, its simple and quick to whip up. The Peppermint Essential Oil I opted for smells great and has a nice, refreshing quality. My version below.
Brown Sugar Scalp Scrub
2 Tbs Olive oil
3 Tbs Organic Light Brown Sugar
3 drops Essential Oil (Choose your favorite or mix a couple. I've tried both Peppermint and Lemon, but liked Peppermint the best)
Mix ingredients in a small bowl. The sugar and oil combination should create a thin paste, adjust product ratios if necessary. Oil should be used at room temperature to avoid melting the sugar.
Section dry or damp hair into 6 or more sections. Working section-by-section, apply small scoops of scrub to the scalp. This will involve further separating each section to reach all parts of the scalp.
In a circular motion, slowly scrub the scalp with the mixture for 1-2 minutes. Refrain from scrubbing roughly, as this may lead to irritation.
Rinse well.
I follow this up with Naptural85's Greek Yogurt Deep Conditioner. My hair loves it!
