I turned 26 this weekend...omg!
Initially, the idea of a 26th birthday made me feel old but after further consideration, I'm OK with it. I'm in a good place career-wise, my brain works wonderfully, my health is great, I can take a fall without breaking anything, I eat what I want without worrying about heartburn or gaining lots of weight, and I'm pretty hot (especially if you like braces).
I definitely feel like I've reached a higher level of maturity in the past two months. I came to DC at an ambitious, fiercely independent, self-centered 24. I was absolutely determined to make it and I've done pretty well. I've mellowed out some since, I'm still ambitious but recognize the power of realizing my weaknesses and asking for help, the usefulness of a good circle, and am learning to use my talent to help build my community too.
I want to do a lot this year--more traveling, dating, education, community service. We'll see how it goes.

26...it's gonna be good!
I spent Saturday morning auditioning to be a hair model for the Bronner Bros. Hair Show in Baltimore, a spot I landed. A post on that soon to come. That evening a few friends treated me to dinner at Birch and Barley in DC.
The beer menu was awesome, a glass of Mean Old Tom lasted through the meal. I wasn't as impressed with the options on the food menu. I ended up with the Brat Burger, which was delicious. No birthday cake, but a very tasty Warm Chocolate Peanut Butter Tart with a smear of whole milk sorbet and a mini whiskey milkshake.
Good times!
Happy Monday peeps!
Hugs and kisses,
Bethany
