Career Student

Yes!
I've shared my maybe-ambition of obtaining a Ph.D., but have I mentioned my current coursework in International Studies? Yeah, I'm a bit of a career student.

I was working towards a certificate, but I've decided I'm going to be at HU for a couple more years and I may as well work towards a full degree. It seems such a waste to not take advantage of the awesome faculty and learn as much as possible, while its convenient and affordable.

I'm going to pursue an M.A. in Political Science, majoring in International Affairs and minoring in Public Administration and Policy.

My benefits allow me 8 free credit hours a semester--one course can be taken during work hours, the other has to be on my own time. Thankfully, many of the courses I need start at 5:10 pm--just after my work day--so I can enroll in two courses a semester.

Two courses every Spring, Summer, and Fall--six courses a year, in a program that requires about 18 classes. I'd like to be finished in two years, plus or minus a summer, so will probably opt to come out of pocket to finish up faster. We'll see!

Things kick off this summer, I'm taking one class: Race Relations in Latin America and the Caribbeans.

Wish me luck peeps!

Hugs and kisses,

Bethany
