2012 IA Salary and Benefits Survey

IAI just released the 2012 IA Salary and Benefits Survey. I noted the following:

• The average for a person in the US: Northeast is $119,000. Not bad. 
• I really want to freelance--I love the flexibility it offers. The average hourly charge for that work is 94.59/hr USD. I'd have to purchase my own health insurance and benefits though, at least until I got married :)
• The field is still really small and so was the respondent count for this study--look at the tiny respondent numbers on the chart. I won't put too much weight on the data. With that being said, none of the IA people I've talked to have ever complained about their salary.
• Age played a role--respondents who fell in the age range of 26-30 made about 75K, 3-35 yos made 95K, and 36-60 yos made 115K.
