Back to the College Life: Roomies and Apartment Hunting

My decision to return to school this Fall, after 2.5 years as a working professional, means I should find a roommate and new apartment, to live within the means of a lowly Research Assistant.

Bittersweet moment.

I've really enjoyed having my own space--decorating without consultation, that sense of independence and accomplishment that having your own place brings, and being as laid back as I want. I'm really going to miss that level of privacy, but I don't want to rack up any unnecessary debt.

I'm sooo excited! I've lived in Baltimore for 2.5 years, knowing that I might return to school. It's given me time to meet lots of students, get good advice, and scope out places.

Ideally, I'd like a 2 bedroom, 2.5 bath with a reasonably sized kitchen, living area, and backyard/deck--also, central heat/air, fairly new appliances, and access to the Purple Circulator route and a Zipcar station. Ambitious, you say? Maybe, but I've been really spoiled the past couple of years.

Will my expectations be met with laughs and scorn or will I find a person and place I'm happy with? Will all my furniture fit? I'll keep you updated!

Hugs and kisses peeps,

Bethany
