Confession: I'm a bit of a perfectionist.
I like things that reliably perform well, and once I've found a good thing, I stick with it. I'm also a writer--that is, I can't listen to a lecture and type my notes up on my laptop. I need to the see the words down in print, and I remember things better if I've written them out.
I discovered the Uniball Signo DX .38 Pen in middle school and I've been in love since. They're reasonably-priced gel pens with solid, fine points; an ink flow that is smooth, consistent, and quick drying; and they last for months. None of that skipping ink or dried up gel here. Second to my MacBook, they're my favorite tool.
Never underestimate the value of a good pen, especially if you're in a field that requires a lot of writing. My return to grad school put me in that category--lots of note taking and sketching will be done in the days ahead.
What's a good pen without good paper? Fabriano notebooks are great--they're eco-friendly, the paper is weighty, great for a hard writer like myself; the covers are durable, they come spiral bound, and I love the grid paper option because it allows me to make tidy charts and graphics.
I'm getting ready!
Hugs and kisses peeps,
Bethany
