Full-time work + 3 graduate classes + Life and I still pulled a 4.0 this semester. Plus I picked up a scholarship from the Society of Women Engineers. Bad.
Can I tell you the story behind my scholarship?
On my way home from Brazil a couple of months ago, I flew into Dulles, which is basically out in the middle of nowhere. I planned to stay the night with a DC friend and go to work the next morning, but those plans fell through. In searching for a way to get back to Bmore, I ended up in the Super Shuttle line. It was like 1 am and I was going to head to Union Station and take the next train home. Ironically enough, the woman in front of me was going to Baltimore. What are the chances?
I offered to split the trip with her--it's like a $90 fare, but she declined. Her job would cover the expenses--so I got a free lift. It gets better. We start talking, she asks me what I do, and I tell her about working on a degree in Interaction Design. Turns out she's in town as the guest speaker for a conference on Women in Engineering and Technology. We exchange cards, stay in contact, and when she encourages me to apply for a scholarship with the Society of Women Engineers, I do. And I win. Because that's what I do.
In all honesty, I'm so amazed by how things come together. Way more intricate than anything I could ever come up with. Thank you, God!
I'm off to live it up in Houston for the next 10 days. Happy Holidays!
Hugs and kisses peeps,
Bethany

Awesome story!
