| A 'Save the Date' Alternative |
a beautiful bomb.com wedding. It will be my fourth time being a part of the bridal party, and after each of these experiences I've pretty much decided I'm not going to have a wedding. Screw that and take me to the courthouse.
It could be that I'm impatient--once I commit to marriage I want to tie the knot, not wait to plan for a ceremony.
It could be that I'm cheap. We're not at all broke but I'd much rather save that money and push a Beamer.
Most of it is me wanting to be different. All my friends have had beautiful, traditional weddings, some pretty epic weddings that I don't even want to try to match--destination weddings, beach weddings, church weddings. The thought of simply eloping is so original and appealing to me.
I'd still throw a reception party though, because I do want the people we love to help celebrate. And I really like parties :) It would be an epic with lots of good food, drinks, music, and dancing. And a steel drum band playing live music--because steel drums make me happy.
