Controlled Quantities of Chaos: Chance the Rapper's 'Mixtape' and the Circle City Classic

Yesterday, my Little and I went to the Circle City Classic--a battle between two local HBCUs, Kentucky State and Central State. Our tickets were generously donated and had us seated on the K-State side, so we rooted for them.

We probably had way too much fun.

Lucas Oil Stadium is about an hour from my place, so I took the top off Wrangler and I think we listened to Chance the Rapper's 'Mixtape' at least 5 times. There's something about the way the beat drops in the beginning that just forces you to move something.

We got to the game, sat near the band, and had a blast. I've never seen so much booty popping from a football dance team, the Glee Club had so much energy, and the band was amazing. The football team  kinda sucked, though. Until they didn't. They were down 14-0 for almost the entire game. The 4th quarter started and they still hadn't scored so I wanted to leave to beat traffic. The Little wanted to stay and she was so excited, so we stayed. And in the second half of the 4th quarter, K-State made a comeback. They scored touchdowns off of two fumbles, took the game to overtime, and won it there. Unbelievable.

I'm a huge fan of Big Brothers, Big Sisters for experiences exactly like this one. The Classic wasn't even on my radar but we both had so much fun.
