I'm spending next week in Denver for International Data Week and decided to book my hotel through Hotwire, mostly because I missed the deadline to book the conference hotel. I've used Hotwire many times and have always had great results--if you don't know how it works, you pick a star-rating and location but don't know the actual name of the hotel until after you pay. This time though, I have serious misgivings. The hotel I landed looks old, super dumpy and the Google reviews are horrible. I have to spend a solid week there, and the real hitter is that it wasn't even cheap.
