That Time I Spent $80 to Fix A Loose Gas Cap

I was driving back from Chicago a couple of weeks ago when my check engine light came on. I took my Wrangler, one of my most prized possessions, to the local Chrysler dealership. Only the best for my baby. After a couple of days, one of the mechanics called to say there was an emissions issue, and that he would need to send Wrangler in for a test that would cost $80--not for any service rendered, just for the test. Fine--I gave my permission, Another couple of days go by before I call for an update. The guy tells me I had a loose gas cap.

Seriously.

Apparently, Chrysler mechanics need an $80 test to figure out a gas cap is loose. What the Fudge.

I need to find a guy with car skills. Or, someone nice to teach me how to check for these things before I resort to professional help. Or, at least a book on this stuff.

Hugs and kisses peeps,

Bethany
