Curse You Wisdom Teeth!
Ok, so maybe it wasn't that bad...I've heard some pretty gruesome oral surgery stories, comparatively my experience was probably the best one could hope for.
I finally got all four of my wisdom teeth pulled this past Friday. The surgery was scheduled for 9 am, by 9:30 I was on my way to la-la land. I don't remember how long the surgery took, but I woke up with double vision and a wad of cotton in my mouth. The double vision went away after a few minutes, but the cotton stayed for a few hours.
If I'd been cooperating 100% I would've iced my face every few hours, but I figured I was already uncomfortable enough without freezing my face numb. I ended up looking like this for three days and swallowing a ton of my own blood (gross, I know!):
It was only for the weekend though and my Vicodin took care of any hint of pain. Most of the swelling was down by Monday, though I still felt sorta out of it--I took the day off.
Anyway, imagine how upset I was to look in my mouth and STILL SEE THAT RETAINED BABY TOOTH!!! Apparently there was a mix-up and they didn't pull it. Arghh!! Now, I have to go back in and have that taken care of.
I'm starting to think this tooth and I are destined to be together :)
That's my story peeps!
Hugs and kisses,
Bethany
