Dieting For Clearer Skin

Chescaleigh gives a cute summary :)
No, I'm not trying to lose weight. In fact, I finally reached my goal weight of 105 lbs last month and am perfectly happy here--I started things at a puny 98 lbs.

But, I have eczema--it's manageable most of the time, unless I'm really stressed or eating crappily. I cannot afford any breakouts in the next few months, I have way too much planned to deal with itchy skin or to let eczema ruin my pretty. That means I've got to clean up my diet and minimize the stress!

I was sharing my case with one of the Nutrition faculty at work, and she gave me the following advice:

What I Do Right:
1.) No Smoking
2.) 0-2 alcoholic beverages/week
3.) Cook for myself
4.) Take multivitamins
5.) Drink lots of water.

Things To Work On:
1.) Eat a big breakfast, smaller lunch, and even smaller dinner. Snack between each meal and after dinner.
1.) Eat breakfast, every morning! (smoothies or oatmeal or yogurt parfaits)
2.) Cut down on the sugar.
3.) Cut out the caffeine. Oh, coffee and Dr. Pepper--you will see so much less of me :(
4.) Eat more fruits and vegetables.
5.) Eat more fish than chicken, beef, and turkey. Make fish your go to meat.
6.) Eat less dairy.
7.) Mix 1 Tb apple cider vinegar into every 8 oz of water
8.) Add an Omega 3 vitamin to the mix. Be sure to get 100% vitamins A and D.

I don't need to be babied through a diet process, if something's got to go, it's got to go now. The 5-week plan is cool, but I'm going to try my best to implement change immediately.

Just as soon as I'm back from the Charleston Food and Wine Fest, that is :)

lol.

Hugs and kisses peeps,

Bethany
