Back in December I wrote a grant proposal to help fund some of the coursework and software I need to launch my career in Information Architecture. I wasn't expecting to hear anything until March, but I found out this week--I'm being funded!
That is huge because it will cover the expenses of my Graduate Certificate, as well as some of the software I need to make me more competitive. I also got an offer to help lead another IA project--it really helps to have hands-on experience.
And, I've been awarded the 2013 Medical Library Association Continuing Education Award. It comes with a bit of money, which I'm going to use for a Taxonomy and Metadata Training Course.
I've got a great resume, but I am so very grateful for my writing abilities--I know they make the difference between me and equally or better qualified candidates when I'm applying for scholarships and grants.

The dots are connecting. I'm so excited!
Best yet, and on a more personal note, The Batman decided he's going to stay in Baltimore! I've been questioning things between us because he finishes his residency this Spring--that typically means a move and he loves NYC. I was sure he was headed there. But he surprised me--he applied for a fellowship here and got an offer that he's going to accept.
We're taking each other out to celebrate. Aww, shucks :)
Hugs and kisses peeps,
Bethany
