Knotted Maxi Dresses and Other No-Sew Options for Petite Frames

I've been avoiding the maxi dress trend because I'm petite and they're usually way too long for me. I've seen a few ladies out with a knot at the side or bottom of their dresses. I love the trend! It shows off 'ankle cleavage', cute shoes, and would solve my problem of having a dress that drags the ground.

I love how chic the knot is on the teal dress below. I can't quite figure out how its tied. My knots tend to be a bit bunched, like the black and white dress.

Any knot experts out there that can offer advice?

Update: I've figured out the chic knot! It's a matter of knotting the dress within the body, instead of  at the hem. Grab a bunch of fabric, at about thigh height, gather it up until the dress hangs at a height you like, then tie a basic knot. Tuck in the loose end. So easy!

For a bunchier knot, gather fabric at the hem and knot it up and off to the side.

I'm about to jump into the maxi dress game! Yay!

Hugs and kisses, peeps!
