I've been rocking some of the same bags since college--cute, quality stuff--but I recently hit a new life stage. I got my first long-term contract--it means even more business travel, business dinners, and more upscale vacations. It's time for nicer bags.
I selected all Coach leatherware because I know their things last a lifetime. I love that the company stands behind its products and will fix issues with little or no cost. I picked three bags I want in my life--after I pay for a bit of CE training and dig myself out of the bit of debt I've accrued in recent months, they're mine.
1.) Carry-On
I rarely/never check luggage, even when traveling abroad--I hate the hassle of paying, waiting for it to arrive after I'm ready to leave the airport, then towing it around. Ugh. I've become an expert at packing everything I need in a carry-on, and as my sole traveling piece, I want something really nice.
I currently have a JanSport wheeled case. It's been amazing; standing up through hard beatings, being squished to fit into tiny places, and all sorts of climate. I use it for overnight trips, weekend trips, vacations--everything.
As much as I love it, I'm hoping to upgrade to something leather, classic, and luxurious. The Transatlantic Travel Carryon is exactly what I have in mind.
2.) Tote/Carry All
I need a bag that will fit a 15" laptop, 1-2 notebooks, and a couple of small textbooks. Something with a place for my pens, markers, binder clips, phone, iPod, wallet, etc.
My current bag is by Coach and though it's intended to be a baby bag, all the pockets make it useful for carrying around my life. I bought this bag about three years ago, as a new professional, because it's what I could afford at the time. I've never really loved it though--the Signature C print, the funky strap, and the lesser quality than Coach leatherware--it's starting to fall apart. It was a decent bag while it lasted, but it's begging to be replaced.
The ideal upgrade would be the legacy business tote:
3.) Shoulder Bag
I have a couple of Coach bags--one leather that I love, but need to send in for a cleaning. I was looking for another everyday, stand-by-me piece.Something spacious, but complimentary to my petite frame--the Madison Phoebe fit the bill.
