Free International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Metadata Training

A free, web-based, course brought to you by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric AdministrationI meant to post about this last week, the first week of the class, but forgot. No worries though, this week is the first week with homework and each week is recorded so you can go back and catch up.

This course presents the concept, principles, and value of metadata utilizing the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) metadata. It provides the content and structure of the IS0 191** series metadata in detail, along with methods for writing quality metadata. Students receive metadata record creation and validation training with a variety of available software tools. Designed as an 8-week course online training series, each weekly session will last approximately one hour.
