Getting Ready for Salvador!

I'm so excited! My DC homie, Rachel is coming to Brazil with me, where we'll connect with my Rio homie, O! I love those two--they're both holding it down for the black girls as officers of the State Department, and holding it down with natural hair--O has locs and Rachel keeps her hair in gorgeous braided styles.

My flight was a steal over at hipmunk.com--$760 roundtrip with a half hour layover in Cerro Viento, Panama. Total flight time, 13 hours, flying Copa Air. That's a new airline for me, hopefully things go smoothly.

My visa is still good from my visit back in February--they last for 10 years. Thank goodness--those joints are expensive at $200 a pop.

I'm recycling the same swimwear from my trip to Nevis, but adding a sweet pair of Toms shades. I'm loving the cat-eye, tortoise style. If I can find another suit that fits as well as my Freya gear, I'll add that to the mix too.

new shades!

Yeah, I might be copying Bey's Cuba look. So what ;p

My hair grew, y'all! I'll probably do another growth challenge because I didn't document the first one well but my hair is mid-back length, stretched out. I'm trying to figure out a decent style for 7 days of beaches, night life, and humidity--it'll probably be twisted, as much as I want to wear it out. But maybe a twist-out the last few days of the trip? Maybe.

And, to combat the hair I don't want--my trust Emjoi. Still loving it!

Style wise, I'm looking for bright cotton prints which happen to be discounted this time of year in the States. I did a little shopping. Hit y'all with those looks later.

Beach body? Yes, indeed. Salvador, I'm so ready for you!

I promise lots of pictures.

Hugs and kisses peeps,

Bethany
