I don't always address politics here, but the recent Donald Sterling f-up is of special interest to me. I could lay out a well crafted post on my feelings, but Bomani Jones takes care of that so flawlessly. I need to look up more of Mr. Jones' stuff--he's good and his views on racism really resonate.
The only issue he doesn't discuss is that despite Sterling's history of racism he kept a mistress that is clearly brown, and was kind of in denial about it--"you could get away with being a light Latina" he had the nerve to tell her. Sir, you like black chicks--admit it. It's OK.

What's more disturbing is her bit of self-hate, wishing she could change who she is to please him. Damn. When a rich dude wants you, I guess it can tempt you to lose yourself. You don't have to be loyal to him, but at least be loyal to you. Self-deprecation is such a bad look.
