I'm taking the plunge guys! I decided to start wearing my hair in styles straightened with heat. I only trustmy hands in my hair so owning good, quality tools is important. My old blow dryer and flat iron were throwbacks to my relaxed hair days--Conair brands that haven't seen much use these past six year. It's definitely time for new tools!
I did my research, starting with a review by Nap85. Her straightening attempt was underwhelming, but she gave great tips on the iron she used. Then I checked out MahoganyCurls--her blowdrying and flat ironing tips were great and she got amazing results. Both worked with the Babyliss brand.
I was almost sure on the Babyliss iron when I visited my local Ulta, but was open to blow dryer suggestions. I talked with a sales lady--she had this epic fro y'all, and she knew all about the Babyliss, Nap85, Mahogany Curls, and natural hair. She suggested I check the Ulta site for the Sexy Hair flat iron and blow dryer. They were both on sale and recent purchases that worked well for her. They were about $90 each, marked down from $160.The sale is still on, with other great brands like Chi and Bed Head. Check it out!
Simply put, I bought a new blow dryer and a new flat iron and I'm excited to try new styles :)
Oh, and I finally henna'd! I used a henna by Lush Handmade Cosmetics, Caca Rouge, a bright red henna that gave my dark hair a subtle red tinge and left if feeling incredibly moisturized. It'll be a new part of my hair routine.
Hugs and kisses peeps,
Bethany
