One of my besties discovered Chagrin Valley Soap and Salve Co. a few months ago and has been raving about their products ever since. She loves the Extra Honey Beer Shampoo Bar--honey and beer sound like an odd combination but I've heard about great hair benefits from both. I like when mixes are creative and wonderful :)
Chagrin Valley is one of those companies you love, but pray they don't get too big and compromise product quality. I've seen it happen over and over--you find a brand with great ingredients, you support them, and before you know it they've blown up and their product quality goes to pieces. It's so depressing.
I like to keep my hair and skin regiment simple and all-natural. I make a lot of my own products and am picky when selecting ready-made products. Chagrin Valley lists the ingredients of each product, mixes products in small batches, and uses organic ingredients. I appreciate that. I love playing mixtress in the kitchen, but I haven't wanted to spend time with it lately. It's nice to have a line of products to turn to without worrying about I'm using. The mixes are creative and unique, they smell amazing, and the pricing is very reasonable. I also love that your can order in sample sizes--an extra perk!
I ordered a few things:
Herbal Hair Tea: Stimulation Blend--the application was tricky for me because you're supposed to pour it over your hair, let whatever your hair doesn't absorb flow into a bowl, then repeat a couple of times. I already knew this was not going to be possible with my huge curly afro. I decided to just put the tea into a spray bottle, misted it on until my hair was saturated, massaged, and left it to air dry. Between the peppermint and lavender, plus the other herbs, it felt tingly and amazing. And, it smelled wonderful. #stimulatemymind
Extra Honey Beer Blend Shampoo Bar--hands down the best shampoo bar I've tried, and possibly the best cleanser. It's extra rich and it actually moisturizes my hair. I like it even better than mud washing. I'll buy the full bar and use it for a while before I make a decision, but it might become a staple. #beerishere
Carrot and Honey Complexion Soap Bar--everything good for a glowing complexion. My face feels amazing and my complexion is improving. I'll definitely be checking out the full-sized product. #getyourshineon
Hempseed and Lemongrass Lip Balm--I love hempseed oil. In terms of oil, I need it in my life only slightly less than coconut oil. With winter rolling in, I need a luxurious lip balm and I know anything with hempseed oil will do the job. This balm is amazing--it smells and feels so good #buttababy
