Relocating and Stuff I've Learned In the Past Week

1. Packing is a lot less painful when you hire movers to pack and haul your things. #movingallowance

2. Purchasing a used vehicle with a lien from an out-of-state seller is a headache. #allthepaperwork

3. Credit unions give the best interest rates on everything, including car loans. I'm not even sure why I don't have a credit union credit card because I should. And Navy Federal is THE ABSOLUTE BEST!!! Seriously.

4. Car insurance on a Wrangler is expensive. #sob Plus, garage parking and gas and parking passes. #kickbricks Owning a car is almost outpacing the savings from cheaper housing.

5. In the span of two months, I've managed to land a faculty position at a major university, and set myself up to purchase one of my dream cars and eliminate all my credit card debt. #mindblown

6. I'm leaving the diversity of Howard U and DC, for West Lafayette, IN. But, I have to admit that I've already met a lot of nice people already. And Indianapolis and Chicago are a short trip away.

7. I need a new wardrobe. Coats and thermal wear and stuff.

8. Faux locs in a fishtail braid make me look and feel absolutely regal :)

9. I'm making the 10-hour drive to West Lafayette, twice in one month. This thrills me. #queenofsoloroadtrips

10. A new church and new friends. #sob #bittertears
