This semester I decided to upgrade from a MS program to a PhD. I've been back and forth with this decision for a while, and my current life situation helped me finalize my decision.
1. As a faculty member, people typically default to calling me Dr. McGowan. I have to clarify by telling I don't actually have a PhD, but I realize I like the sound of it.
2. Thinking ahead, I want my next faculty appointment to be 9 months so I can have my summers off.
3. I'm already going to have to spend the next few years researching and writing. I may as well make work and school play together.
4. I'm really interested in health information literacy and very few people are researching in the area. The field needs me!
Interesting times ahead.
Hugs and kisses peeps,
Bethany
