IFLA 2016 National Committee Fellow and Other Life Stuff

Guys,  I've been accepted as an IFLA 2016 National Committee Fellow! IFLA is the International Federation of Library Associations, it's basically a global network for librarians and information professionals. If my paper proposal is accepted, I'll get to tell information professionals from all over the world about my work in health information literacy and adolescent health! One step closer to getting my name out there and publishing something awesome.

Also, a $1000 fellowship sounds great until you realize conference registration is $600 and you'll need hotel accommodations for a week, plus travel and food. Still, I'm thrilled!

It's been a while since I've posted, but things have been pretty boring these past weeks--all work and school is back in session too, so there's that. This semester, I'm studying the psychology behind how people interact with technology in a class called Humans, Computers, and Cognition and I'm taking a class on blending HTML/CSS with PHP in Dynamic Web Design.

I'm excited for the Super Bowl because my home team actually made it. Go Carolina! #iheartcamnewton

I joined a book club--see me being social. We're reading Shonda Rhime's Year of Yes. I haven't even cracked the book open, and we're meeting next week. #gah I have a little gym life going too. I was doing BodyPump twice a week and BodyFlow once a week, but  a month or so ago I noticed my blazers were tight across the shoulder because I've gotten so built. Nice, kinda, but I invested in too many blazers for them not to fit properly. Blazers are expensive! So, I've cut BodyPump to once a week and picked up an extra night of BodyFlow. Just thought y'all would like to know that :)

And, in trekking around Chicago and following Chi-town photographers on Instagram I met a guy with an amazing camera eye. Check out his work at instagram.com/obi1images. Maybe I'll start sharing a few of my pics too--I'm pretty decent and Chicago is such a fun city to photograph.

Hugs and kisses peeps,

Bethany
