Persimmon Cinnamon Green Smoothie

Trader Joe's has persimmons back in stock! Persimmons are a sweet Fall/Winter fruit with a unique flavor like a blend of apricot, mango, and tomato. They sound weird, but they're perfect for smoothies. Persimmons are loaded with antioxidant compounds including Vitamin-A, Betacarotene, Lycopene, Lutein, Zeaxanthin and Cryptoxanthin. Together, these compounds work as protective agents against the free radicals that play a role in aging and various disease processes. #superheroes

Persimmon Cinnamon Green Smoothie

1 Banana, frozen
3 Medjool Dates, pits removed and roughly chopped
3 C Spinach
2 Persimmons, stem and leaves removed, sliced
2 Tbs Chia Seeds
2 tbsp Coconut Oil
1/2 tsp Cinnamon
2 C Ice (eliminate if you opt to use smoothie cubes)

In a high-powered blender, add all ingredients and blend until smooth.

In a standard blender, blend the Spinach and Almond Milk first. Then, blend in the Dates followed by the Persimmons. Add the remaining ingredients and blend until smooth.
